Rejoice or tremble … or both – 2009 is here.
So far the decade has been defined in the USA by the War on Terror, a recession followed by record highs in the stock market and home ownership followed by a recession, and supposed “global warming” replaced by 6 years of cooling and sea ice coverage equal to 1979 levels. The Iraq front of the WoT appears to be almost over for US troops but Afghanistan might just end up with a huge ’surge’ of troops soon.
We will have a new President in a couple of weeks. This man campaigned as the culmination of what the left and much of the “center” wanted in a President: liberal, anti-military, pro-union, black, young, little or no executive experience, a ‘change’ agent, anti-2nd Amendment, radically pro-abortion, and NOT a southerner. We’ll see how he lives up to the left’s demands.
I wonder how many days I should graciously give President “hope-change” Obama before I blame HIM for everything bad on the planet. Why not? Even AIDS in Africa was Bush’s fault according to the liberal media.
The new age of “hope-change” is already tarnished with corruption and Barack Hussein isn’t even sworn in yet. Yay, it’ll be like the days of Clinton again . . . lots of political cronies in court and in jail. Yep, no change here yet. I predict the list of political criminals and those with big ‘moral’ troubles will grow dramatically in the Obama/Reid/Pelosi empire (oh yeah, some will definitely be GOP’ers). If I have the time, I might attempt to keep track of the more recognizable names . . .
Democrats: Gov. Blagojevich, Sen. Burris, Rep. Jefferson, Sen. Edwards / Republicans: Sen. Stevens (the list will grow)
2009 – as for my own resolutions: write more in this blog . . . or not.
